Travel Time and My Sister; 2/2/08 February 5, 2008

Last Saturday (2/2/08) was travel day or us as we left Crystal River or our next stop at Camp Florida in Lake Placid, Fl. Along the way in Tampa, I had arranged to met my sister who was in town. My baby sister Kay is a romance novelist (link to her web site). She lives in California and we see each other way too infrequently. Although we had just a little over an hour with each other, it was really good to see her again. Here’s a picture of the two of us in the motor home.
The rest of the day was spent traveling to our new home for the next month. We immediately started to notice how much warmer it was as we went south from Crystal River. I’ll update you later on my opinions on the rv park in Crystal River and my first impressions of our new home.
Continuing our adventure and hoping that you are enjoying your adventure as much as we’re enjoying ours.

We’re still working on the house — putting up a garage now since we’ve discovered that all houses for sale in our area in our asking price range have garages. We’ve had the house up for sale for two months with absolutely no one interested — looks like it’s might take some time to sell.
Nevertheless, we’re proceeding with our plans to buy an rv. First, we were convinced that we would be purchasing a fiver — a fifth wheel, but now we’ve decided to get a class A motor home. We’ve had a couple of missteps, but we’re currently in the process of purchasing one and hope to have it purchased within a week.
Same Old, Same Old July 23, 2007

It’s been a while since I last posted any thing. It’s been basically the same old, same old. The house is still being worked on with at least two more weeks to go.
My wife and I did attend my annual family reunion this weekend. It’s a relatively (no pun intended) small affair, but it was very nice. I also got to see the daughter, her husband, and my granddaughter this weekend. Cindy and I will get our granddaughter for at least three days later this month and will then get a great chance to spoil her.
I am getting inpatient at how long it’s taking to get the house on sale — I guess that I’m really looking forward to starting out as a fulltime rv’er.

Valentine’s Day February 14, 2006

This year, my wife and I decided that we wanted to do something instead of giving each other a present on Valentine’s day. We decided to go on a three day trip to the St. Louis area to visit friends and to enjoy the area.
One of our favorite day trips when we lived in this area in the 70’s was to go to the Grafton, IL area and to take a ferry boat ride.
We got to relive the memory when we took the Winfield ferry between Winfield MO and Calhoun County IL. The last time we took this ferry was on a stormy day — we were happy on that day to get off the ferry.
Today, we wished that the ferry ride would never end.
