Jason -- I'm trying to truly retire, but I'm still keeping my options open. I'm updating my resume and looking for opportunities. I'll probably not make a firm decision until after my house is sold and we're on the road. Thanks for reading the blog. Jim

We aren't full-timers, but T and I have 'gone South' the last three years. We take our laptop and use Cincular PC card in it. We have internet ANYWHERE we travel, can pull it up while driving down any highway, and always have it in parks where others are having trouble. We wouldn't trade it for the world.

It's a little spendy, being $59.99 a month, but is more than worth it to us. We do NOT like not having our internet, and this insures us we always will.

Home to us is on 50 acres on a mountain in the Pacific Northwest. As we are unable to get anything but dial up service here - we elected to use our PC card year round - and no longer use dial up service. The cost is worth it to us. Might be something you want to think about.

Initially, we had to purchase the PC card...but it was $150.00 with $150.00 rebate ...and most of them have deals like that. You might want to check with your cell phone provider and see if they have their own PC cards. Many do.

Congratualtions!
My wife and I would like to go fulltime, too. We’ve got quite a way to go until we make it happen, though.
If you don’t mind my asking, will you be earning money on the road? I think if we could come up with some income while we’re on the road we’d be able to set off sooner and stay out longer.
Good luck!
